Shangri-La Zhoushan

An Architectural Voyage

This luxury hotel design celebrates the marine culture, the history and the economic significance of the area where the property is located. Being a fishing center and origin of many historical voyages inspired the resort architecture as well as the landscaping.
The curvature and sail-like form of the roofs, and the fins of the façade are derivatives of these voyaging vessels. The landscape signifies the ocean and the waves, shown by the shape and forms of the pools and plantings.
