Shangri-La Zhoushan

An Architectural Voyage

This luxury hotel design celebrates the marine culture, the history and the economic significance of the area where the property is located. Being a fishing center and origin of many historical voyages inspired the resort architecture as well as the landscaping.
The curvature and sail-like form of the roofs, and the fins of the fa├žade are derivatives of these voyaging vessels. The landscape signifies the ocean and the waves, shown by the shape and forms of the pools and plantings.
