Ka'anapali Beach Hotel (KBH) Renewal - Maui Island, Hawaii

An Honored Destination Renewed and Reimagined

Inspired by the spirit of the traditional kauhale—the Hawaiian village—this transformative resort vision blends the past and present across a thoughtfully curated landscape of gardens, courtyards, and both renewed and newly constructed buildings. Rooted in cultural respect and executed in contemporary regional design, the result is a dynamic gathering place that honors heritage while inspiring guests today and for generations to come.

Indoor and outdoor venues throughout the beachfront property on the world-famous Ka'anapali Beach serve as a living canvas for Hawaiian storytelling, brought to life through the resort’s internationally recognized Po‘okela program—renowned for its dedication to creating authentic, deeply meaningful guest experiences rooted in place.

Phase One is now complete, unveiling two newly reimagined guest wings, each room featuring makamae—precious, handcrafted gifts created by resort employees. A striking addition to the shoreline is Huihui, a beachfront restaurant and bar designed as a house without walls, where the story of the Hawaiian voyage is shared through architecture, cuisine, and connection. Its multi-tiered design ensures every guest enjoys panoramic sunset views over the Pacific. Additional upgrades include the expansion of the parking structure to support the resort’s growth.

Phase Two will further elevate the experience with new buildings for the lobby, porte-cochère, ballroom, all-day dining restaurant, meeting spaces, administration offices, and back-of-house facilities—alongside the full renovation of the remaining 432 guest rooms.
