Chongqing Jin Yun Shan Resort

Hospitality Design That Communes With Nature

By saving all the existing trees, this 120 key boutique hotel design, (including 20 resort villas) preserves the mature forest and historically significant site at the top of Jin Yun Shan outside of Chongqing. The trees were saved in part by breaking of the building mass in multiple pavilions and courtyards. The natural beauty of the site is the hospitality architects design inspiration, with tall free standing columns rising above a stone base and supporting roofs and large glass walls, not unlike the stone mountain with tall trees topped with large canopies of leaves. By preserving the site and using it as design inspiration the buildings are more harmonious with nature and although contemporary in design feel as though they have always been there.
